Anduril's Punk and Hardcore page

My first contact to punk was back in '88. I was 19 and had just finished school. I didn't want to join the army ( in Germany young males have to ), so I chose the legal alternative of the so called "Zivildienst". I worked for about 20 months in the laundry of a local hospital. I didn't earn much, it was about DM 300 ( $ 200 ) per month when I started , and raised up to DM 420 ( $ 280 ) in the last few months, but after all, it was the first time in my life I owned my own money, and coz I still lived with my parents and hadn't to pay anything for food and living, it wasn't that bad. With the money of the first few months, I bought the first stereo of my life. I still own it, and coz I spent a few weekends building the boxes ( loudspeakers ) with my own hands, I wouldn't give it away for a million ( well, I'm not too sure about that. If you have a million to spare, call me, and we'll see :) ). Nevertheless, it has a certain place in my heart. Now I had the possibility of buying records ( CDs indeed, I didn't get a record player, and still don't own one now ). I started with Dire Straits' 'Brothers in arms', but after only a month or two, I stumbled upon a record, which ended up being my first PUNK CD. It was The Clash's "Combat Rock". Now things changed quickly. Another guy ( Hi Ralf! ) started his "Zivildienst" at the laundry, and he was already into punk/hc for some years. He quickly introduced me to the Dead Kennedys, and in 1990 I bought my first Sick Of It All CD ( I have to admit, it was the SONY Rip-Off, but I didn't know too much about DIY then, and rarely recognized the laws of capitalism ). Well, I started going out to shows ( I disliked Green Day even on their first european tour, but Nirvana did a great 15 Minute show when I saw them, of course BEFORE it all started :), and buying more records to make my ears hurt. By now, I think I've seen about thousand bands ( some of them twice ), and own about 400 Punk CDs. Right now, I have left the New York Hate Core sound behind, and listen to a wide variety between Crust, Poppunk and classic 77 stuff. Since I can't play an instrument, I've thought of making a zine or opening a non profit mailorder ( 10 billion times thanx to the Blacklist crew out there in SF, sorry you are no more! ). None of these plans has reached a state of reality yet. But my punk page is a beginning :)

I have something to moan about

at least I will, some day

Of course there are some link pages :

And last but not least I decided to review some of the gigs I have been seen.

in 1996 :

Dackelblut / Robespierres : May 18th at the Wehrschloss in Bremen
Doom / Contramenation : September 12th at the Schlachthof in Bremen
Brawl / Don't Know : September 29th at the Alhambra in Oldenburg

in 1997 :

Locust / Jenny Piccolo / Assay : March 11th at Gruenenstrasse 18 in Bremen
Serpico / Three Steps Up / Rusty James : March 23rd at the Alhambra in Oldenburg
Scatha / Counterblast : March 27th at Freizi Friesenstrasse in Bremen

I guess I'll be the maintainer of the FAQ to the newsgroup de.alt.punk when it's finished. See here what's done till now. And yes, it's German.

I'll try keeping a list of upcoming gigs in the northwest area of Germany (around Bremen/Oldenburg). Of course they are all punk/hardcore related.

Date Bands Place
