When you are done reading this page you might figure out that there are some
things we have in common. If that is so, please send me an e-mail so that we can
exchange some common experiences or interests. This is one of my favorite hobbies;
getting in contact with people through the net.
It is so interesting to see the world becoming such a small ball where nearly
everybody is connected to everyone through nets like the Internet or just the
phone. It wasn't long ago when I received a letter from Canada in response
to my homepage. I was asked to search for a woman at my college, (she did not posess
an e-mail account), and give her a letter. It is like being in a classroom and giving
a small letter from person to person to reach the guy at the end of the room,
(without the teacher knowing it! :-) ) So the world became something like a great
classroom and we are everybodys' classmates!
But I'm getting around in real life, too. I visited the United States of
America twice. Not necessarily because I like the country so much (but I do) but because
it is the place where my girlfriend was born. (If you have a closer look at the two
pictures you will notice the Niagara Falls and Disneyland in the background.)
I met her when she was an exchange student at my school TGG in
Leer. Six years passed and we are still in love, in spite of the time and the long
distance (and long distance telephone bills! :-) ) Now she is living and working in nothern
Germany in a town called Rheine. We are able to see each other on weekends now,
this is much better then before (once a year?!) but still far from perfect.
Here is more information about myself: I'm studying computer science and am in the 5th semester.
I'm 22 years old and hope to be 25 when I finish my studies. This seems to be a
realistic goal. I don't want to waste time and be lazy!
I play soccer on the weekends. I'm the goal keeper in the second team of the
SV Stiekelkamp. I used to play Volleyball, too, but I do not have enough time
to do so anymore. I'm a volunteer fire fighter and have already passed some
classes like the basic training, radio & broadcasting and breathing with air tanks.
I have had to use my skills 5 times, when there was an alarm but
luckily nobody was hurt. We lost three houses and two cars. (We can only help when
there is enough time to do so.) But we managed to save the surrounding buildings!
I do not own a car but I do posess a motorcycle, a Kawasaki GPZ 600R. Every year
there is a big meeting in Assen, Netherlands. Every
year the bikers from Germany, Netherlands, Finnland and England have a big
party there. I can say: You have got to go there if you get the chance to do so. If you
like to drive with our group of about 30 motorcycles send an address to me and let me
know where you can meet us and go together.
There is much more I could write but I'm too lazy. If you want to know more
about me, or have any questions please just ask and I will respond. I'm always
in search of new people to talk to.
