NDir - Nice Directory

NDir is a console-based utility to display the contents of directories, just like 'ls' or 'dir'. It runs on various Unix systems, including Linux.

NDir is designed to present its output in a way that is informative to the user. This includes a summary line with some directory statistics, different levels of verbosity, colourized output and intelligent handling of very long file names. File sizes are displayed with thousands separators.

News: Version 0.8.8 includes Large File support. NDir now handles files larger than 2 GB correctly. In previous versions, large files were displayed with a negative file size or were not even displayed at all.

Additionally, an issue has been solved which in the previous version lead to file sizes not being displayed.

This version should work on all supported systems. If NDir is used on a system that either has no large file support or does not need it, NDir should work, too. NDir can also be compiled without large file support.

Remarks - RedHat Linux 7.2: Version 0.8.6 was reported not to compile under RedHat Linux 7.2. In this case, please use version 0.8.5, which should work.

Operating System: Many Unix systems including Linux. Tested on SuSE Linux, Sun Solaris and Digital Unix
